Custom Frequency Capping Parameters

The standard parameters for Custom Frequency Capping are as follows (see the Custom Frequency Capping Example for proper syntax):

Parameter Description
c

Specifies the name of the cookie to be sent.

Example: c=CAMP01cookie

dv

Specifies the default value of the cookie. Numbers only.

Example: dv=1

va

Specifies the default value of the cookie. Letters and numbers.

Example: va=VALUE

date

Specifies the cookie's expiration date (optional).

Example: For June 30, 2004: date=063004 The date format can either be of the type mmddyy. See Remarks below.

e

Specifies the length of time during which the cookie will be valid before expiring. This time period starts when the cookie is set.

Example:

e=2d The options for this parameter are as follows: [y]ears, [M]onths, [d]ays, [h]ours, [m]inutes [s]econds See Remarks below.

s Send Javascript instead of a redirection (set s=1 to enable the function)

 

Remarks:

  • Use either date or e to specify the expiration. Do not use both!
  • If neither date nor e is used to specify the cookie's expiration, the cookie will persist until the end of the day on which it is set (the start of the next day at 00:00:00).
  • Browser allows 20 cookies per domain.
